We Will Not Be Responsible for Rats is a based on a conversation I have been having with myself about Book Arts. It is meant to playfully poke at my tendency to be a pack rat. I am prone to using repurposed materials in my work, ranging anywhere from dead flowers in my backyard to price tags and sale stickers. My exposure to Book Arts has sent this predisposition into overdrive. I am now amassing more materials than ever with the intention of eventually repurposing various components into new books.
The most difficult part of putting this book together was figuring out how to create holes in the pages without making the edges of those holes look to clean. It was very important to me to have the pages feel like they had been gnawed on by rats. The book is a three-signature hard cover with letterpress elements.
