Victoria is a communication designer and photographer located in the Metro Detroit area. She originally started her journey into the art world as a photographer, but slowly over time realized she had always been more attracted to working in the field of design. A couple years into studying design, a friend of hers mentioned that ever since they had known each other she had always been photographing signs. It was in that moment when she realized she had been using her camera lens as a way to decipher letterforms for years longer than she was consciously aware of her motivations for doing so.

A major influence in her work stems from her diagnosis with dyslexia. She received that diagnosis later than most. Even after being formally diagnosed, it took her years to realize the act of photographing typography and signage was one of the ways her brain was attempting to process her dyslexia. She had begun photographing signage before she ever knew she was dyslexic. Currently she runs an Instagram dedicated to documenting signage across the Midwest, under the pseudonym Penny Robinson, and this led her to recognize another one of her passions, archiving. Through photography and her knowledge of typography and design, she hopes to continue documenting intriguing signs and peculiar letterforms before they disappear for good.
